Ammonia adsorption and recovery from swine wastewater permeate using naturally occurring clinoptilolite

چکیده

This study aims to successfully demonstrate natural clinoptilolite based ammonia capture from real swine wastewater and simulated Anaerobic Membrane Bioreactor (AnMBR) treated permeate through extensive experimental analysis. The surface structure as well elemental chemical composition of both untreated particles were characterized using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) - Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). Column experiments revealed that the breakthrough times for synthetic wastewaters similar indicating matrix did not really have an effect on adsorption. Ion release profiles showed Na+ be main counterion NH4+ capture. presence K+ ion had greatest impact adsorption selectivity series was determined > Ca2+ Mg2+. Simultaneous removal P observed confirmed by scanning microscopy-energy (SEM-EDS) data ion-release profile data. Additionally, sustained regenerability sorbed demonstrated brine solution alternating cycles desorption.

Recovery of ammonia and phosphate minerals from swine wastewater using gas-permeable membranes.

Gas-permeable membrane technology is useful to recover ammonia (NH3) from liquid manures. In this study, phosphorus (P) recovery via MgCl2 precipitation was enhanced by combining it with NH3 recovery through gas-permeable membranes. Anaerobically digested swine wastewater containing approximately 2300 mg NH4+-N L-1 and 450 mg P L-1 was treated using submerged membranes plus low-rate aeration to...

Ammonia Volatilization from Constructed Wetlands That Treat Swine Wastewater

Increasingly, large–scale animal production occurs in confinement where large per–unit–area quantities of waste are generated. With the increased scale of production, new environment–friendly technologies are needed to deal with the waste. Constructed wetlands are considered an alternative treatment, but it is not known if volatilization of free ammonia (NH3) governs nitrogen removal in these s...

Phosphate Adsorption and Recovery from an Industrial Wastewater

Phosphate is one of the major causes of the water eutrophication, because it is often the limiting nutrient for primary production in fresh water and marine. The world health organization (WHO) especially established the committee for this, in order to research its origin cause of formation and make the countermeasure. Phosphate removal from wastewater has been widely investigated. Consequently...

Recovery of phosphorous from swine wastewater through crystallization.

All the phosphate rock Japan needs must be presently imported from abroad because the country has no subterranean phosphorous resources. Therefore, there is a need to accelerate the development of and establish the technologies for phosphorous recovery from waste and wastewater. Swine wastewater has a high potential for phosphorous recovery in Japan. A reactor for removing and recovering phosph...

Assessment of Phosphorus Recovery from Swine Wastewater in Beijing, China

The nutrient management of phosphorus (P) contained in swine wastewater is an important challenge to enhance P use efficiency. In the present study, assessment of P recovery from swine wastewater in Beijing was performed. P amounts of swine wastewater increased from 11,687 tons in 1980 to 16,237 tons in 2014. Without treatment of swine wastewater, P concentration will reach a maximum 1.20 mg/L....
